The Material Flow Analysis (MFA) developed by the Hunter JO and the NSW Government’s Sustainability Advantage Program maps the quantity of 21 different waste materials across each Local Government Area in the Hunter and Central Coast region.
It provides a baseline of waste material flows across the region, that can be used by government and businesses to identify opportunities for collaboration and investment. The data available is the first step in understanding where waste materials are located in the Hunter and Central Coast and should not be relied upon solely for decision making.
This MFA offers a unique insight into data collection, presentation, and interpretation. The material flows selected for this analysis essentially represent the tonnage relationships for who is generating, what is generated, where it is generated, where it ends up and how it is managed.
